Changes in obese metabolic phenotypes over time and risk of incident chronic kidney disease
Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Jul 12, 2018
Nam KH, et al. - This study draws on data from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study to investigate a connection between metabolically healthy obese (MHO) phenotype and incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) and analyzed whether changes in metabolic phenotype over time could affect CKD risk. Participants in the study were 8,589 subjects. Results revealed that CKD occurred in 782 (9.1%) participants during a mean follow-up duration of 9.3 years. The findings from the present study suggested that MHO subjects were at increased risk for incident CKD.
