Caring for older adults with self-reported vision impairment: Findings from the national study of caregiving
American Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 08, 2021
Varadaraj V, Swiatek KS, Chung SE, et al. - In this nationally representative study, researchers sought to investigate caregiving relationships for older adults with vision impairment (VI). One thousand seven hundred seventy-six family/unpaid caregivers to community-dwelling Medicare beneficiaries age ≥ 65 years. The findings indicate that caring for older adults with VI requires more time and emotional well-being than caring for older adults without VI, but there are no discrepancies in financial or physical difficulties.
