Cannabis use and the risk of tuberculosis: A systematic review
BMC Public Health Jul 31, 2019
French CE, Coope CM, McGuinness LA, et al. - In order to inform ongoing and future tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control strategies, researchers reviewed evidence on the link between cannabis use and TB (latent infection and active disease). They identified 377 records from Ovid Medline, Embase and PsycInfo, the World Health Organization website, Google Scholar, hand-searched reference lists, conference abstracts, and the Web of Science. The number of studies that met the eligibility criteria were 11. They noted that the study designs were heterogeneous, and found weak evidence for a link between cannabis use and TB acquisition.
