Matsika A, et al. - This trial encompassed an assessment of the immunohistochemical expression and potential prognostic importance of putative cancer stems cell markers ALDH1, EZH2 and SOX2 in prostate cancer. The expression of cancer stem cell markers exhibited variation in the case of prostate adenocarcinoma. It was deduced that immunohistochemical staining for ALDH1 and EZH2 could aid in predicting tumour aggressiveness prior to the treatment of prostate cancer.
