Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jun 01, 2018
Hurley ET, et al. - Experts sought to review the comparative studies in the literature to determine if biceps tenodesis or labral repair resulted in superior clinical outcomes in the treatment of superior labrum anterior-to-posterior (SLAP) tears. Results demonstrated that higher rates of patient satisfaction and return to the sport resulted with biceps tenodesis. Similar functional outcome scores were seen with biceps tenodesis and SLAP repair. Nonetheless, no statistically significant difference was seen in the reoperation rates, there was a trend toward higher reoperation rates in patients treated with SLAP repair.
