Bacteria and hard tissue debris extrusion and intracanal bacterial reduction promoted by XP-endo shaper and Reciproc instruments

Journal of Endodontics Jun 07, 2018

Alves FRF, et al. - In a multipurpose analytic approach, experts compared the levels of apically extruded bacterial and hard tissue debris as well as intracanal bacterial reduction after root canal preparation with either XP-endo Shaper (FKG Dentaire, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) or Reciproc (VDW, Munich, Germany) instruments. Bacterial extrusion was seen to be lower with Reciproc, however, with the XP-endo Shaper higher intracanal bacterial reduction was noted. Authors noted the production of a similar volume of hard tissue debris extrusion by both the techniques.
