Associations of the APOB rs693 and rs17240441 polymorphisms with plasma APOB and lipid levels: A meta-analysis
Lipids in Health and Disease Sep 09, 2017
Niu C, et al. Â This meta-analysis was performed to determine the associations of the rs693 and rs17240441 polymorphisms with fasting apolipoprotein B gene (APOB) and lipid levels. Investigations demonstrated that the rs693 polymorphism was significantly associated with higher levels of APOB, triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). In addition, the rs17240441 polymorphism was significantly associated with higher levels of APOB, TC, and LDL-C. However, further research work was required to illustrate the underlying mechanisms.
