Nutrition, Metabolism & Cardiovascular Diseases Apr 06, 2019
Yusuf H, et al. - Via this case–control study, researchers examined the association of preeclampsia in pregnant women with dietary factors and antioxidant intake (vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, and selenium). Recruitment of 79 pregnant Jordanian women (36 preeclamptic pregnant women and 43 healthy pregnant women aged 18–45 years with a gestational age ≥20th week of pregnancy) was done from the obstetrics and gynecology clinics at Royal Medical Services, King Hussein Medical Center, Amman, Jordan. Pregnant women with preeclampsia had lower fiber intake, higher mean intake of energy, fat, saturated fat, and omega-6, and lower beta-carotene and vitamin C intake, and a higher sodium intake than the control group.
