Associations of body adiposity index, waist circumference, and body mass index in young adults
Clinical Nutrition Apr 12, 2018
Fedewa MV, et al. - Authors intended to analyze the link between Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), Body Adiposity Index (BAI) and clinical measures of adiposity (%Fat) in young adults aged 21.8 ± 4.8 years. They also gauged the relative accuracy of each anthropometric measure when predicting %Fat. It was observed that WC and BAI collectively explained 46.3% of the variation in %Fat, and removing BAI appeared to greatly reduce model fit. A more strong connection was disclosed between WC and BAI with %Fat, as estimated via the 4C model compared to BMI in the study cohort.
