Associations between angiotensinogen M235T polymorphisms and the risk of diabetic nephropathy: A meta-analysis
Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice May 26, 2018
Zhou B, et al. - Researchers attempted to investigate the potential relationship between angiotensinogen (AGT) M235T polymorphism and the risk of diabetic nephropathy (DN). For this analysis, they performed a comprehensive electronic search in Pubmed, Web of Science, EBSCO, Embase, the Cochrane Library and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) to find original articles about the relationship between AGT M235T polymorphism and DN risk published before 27 September 2017. Using funnel plots and Egger's regression test, publication bias was investigated. Findings from this meta-analysis indicate that in Caucasian DM population and type 1 diabetes patients, AGT M235T homozygous mutation significantly increases DN risk.
