Association of OCT angiography parameters with age in cognitively healthy older adults
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Dec 25, 2020
Polascik BW, Thompson AC, Yoon SP, et al. - Researchers conducted this cross-sectional study to assess the correlation of changes in retinal anatomy and microvasculature with age and sex in cognitively healthy older adults. The sample consisted of cognitively healthy individuals (n = 141) aged 50 years and older who underwent optical coherence tomography angiography. In cognitively healthy adults, there is a significant decrease in both vessel density and perfusion density, as well as reduced choroidal and ganglion cell layer-inner plexiform layer thickness associated with aging, even after the fifth decade.
