Fieß A, et al. - Researchers evaluated if, in adulthood, low birth weight (BW) had long-term effects on visual acuity and refraction. Findings suggested that low BW individuals had higher odds of lower visual acuity and a higher myopic refractive error in adulthood. A higher likeliness of adults with high BW to have a more hyperopic refractive error was noted.
