Wu CM, et al. - Data from the Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000 were studied to examine the relationship between chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in the Taiwan National Health Insurance programme between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2012. Researchers noticed 3.88 per 1000 person-years, the incidence of any type of AMD in all candidates. They observed a vital and strong positive correlation among subjects presenting the disease progression from nonexudative to exudative AMD.
