Association between vitamin D level and hematuria from a dipstick test in a large scale population based study: Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
BMC Nephrology May 31, 2019
Ryu H, et al. - Using data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2010–2014, researchers focused on the link between vitamin D deficiency and hematuria in this cross-sectional analysis including 20,240 participants, aged ≥18 years old. They computed the odds ratio of hematuria risk by serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D quartiles, after adjusting various covariates, by performing multivariate logistic regression. Hematuria was detected in 3144 (15.5%) participants. Findings revealed a correlation of vitamin D deficiency with hematuria in women, especially after menopause.
