Association between vascular access creation and deceleration of estimated glomerular filtration rate decline in late-stage chronic kidney disease patients transitioning to end-stage renal disease
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Aug 12, 2017
Sumida K, et al. – Study's aspiration was to determine the association between vascular access creation and deceleration of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline in late–stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients transitioning to end–stage renal disease. There appeared a link between the creation of pre–dialysis arteriovenous fistula (AVF) or graft (AVG) and eGFR slope deceleration. The creation of pre–dialysis AVF/AVG seemed to delay the onset of dialysis initiation in advanced CKD patients.
