Association between unexplained thickened nuchal translucency and adverse pregnancy outcomes
Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics Jun 15, 2018
Tiyatha S, et al. - The association between unexplained increased nuchal translucency (INT) and adverse pregnancy outcomes was investigated via analyzing the retrieved records with NT measurement and complete follow-up from the prospective database of the fetal down screening project. Of 6026 available for analysis (INT:277; and normal: 5749), a significantly higher abortion rate was noted in the INT group, 18/277 (6.5%) vs 55/5749 (1.0%). Findings thereby revealed significantly increased risk of abortion, fetal growth restriction, preterm birth, low birth weight and pre-eclampsia in association with INT in the first trimester.
