Mamani M, et al. - Researchers carried out a comparative analysis of the levels of vitamin D between patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and healthy controls. The results shed light on the connection between a low level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) with a higher incidence of CAP and more severe disease. Hence, emphasis ought to be placed on vitamin D deficiency in infectious diseases, especially in CAP patients.
