Association between psoriasis and vitiligo: A systematic review and meta-analysis
American Journal of Clinical Dermatology Feb 16, 2019
Yen H, et al. - In this study, researchers estimated the relationship between psoriasis and vitiligo among 120,866 psoriasis cases and 79,907 vitiligo cases. They used a customized Newcastle–Ottawa Scale to evaluate the risk of bias of the included studies. A random-effects meta-analysis was performed to calculate pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for case-control and cross-sectional studies. They observed a significantly enhanced odds for vitiligo in psoriasis cases (OR=2.29), as well as a significantly elevated odds for psoriasis in vitiligo cases (OR=3.43).
