Association between psoriasis and dementia: A population-based case–control study
American Journal of Clinical Dermatology May 28, 2019
Lin CC, et al. - Researchers focused on the link between previously diagnosed psoriasis and dementia in Taiwan by using the Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000. They selected subjects (n=7118) with a diagnosis of dementia and randomly extracted sex- and aged-matched subjects (n=21,354) as controls. As a control group, they selected patients with bullous pemphigoid. They found that compared to the control group, more patients with dementia had prior psoriasis. However, dementia vs control groups had no significant differences in prior bullous pemphigoid.
