Association between primary Sjogren’s syndrome, arterial stiffness, and subclinical atherosclerosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Clinical Rheumatology Sep 11, 2018
Yong WC, et al. – This meta-analysis evaluated the relation between subclinical atherosclerosis and arterial stiffness in primary Sjogren’s syndrome (PSS). Data from eight observational studies involving 767 subjects were extracted. In comparison to control participants, pooled results showed that patients with PSS had a significant increase in pulse wave velocity and higher intima-media thickness. Overall, findings suggested an association between PSS with arterial stiffness and subclinical atherosclerosis.
