Artisan vs Artiflex phakic intraocular lens implantation in the treatment of moderate to high myopia: Meta-analysis
BMC Ophthalmology Apr 14, 2021
Hou C, Li H, Li J, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for comparing postoperative safety, effectiveness, predictability, visual quality and biomechanics after the implantation of Artisan vs Artiflex phakic intraocular lenses (PIOLs). From January 2000 to February 2020, Pubmed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were used. Comparative trials with myopia patients were chosen in this review. Both techniques were safe and effective for myopia treatment, and when compared to Artisan PIOL, Artiflex PIOL had a significant improvement in efficacy, predictability, contrast sensitivity, and HOA, with the exception of safety and complications, in the treatment of moderate to high myopia.
