Areas and factors associated with patientsâ dissatisfaction with glaucoma care
Clinical Ophthalmology Oct 23, 2017
Foo VH, et al. - A scrutiny was carried out of the patients dissatisfaction with overall and specific aspects of a tertiary glaucoma service. In addition, this study investigated their independent factors, with the inclusion of intraocular pressure (IOP) and visual acuity (VA). Less than one-tenth of glaucoma patients reported dissatisfaction with the overall glaucoma service. Nevertheless, one in four patients appeared to be dissatisfied with three specific aspects of care. A connection was discovered between lower IOP, ironically, and education level with overall dissatisfaction. A rise could be brought about in the satisfaction levels by improving the patients comprehension of glaucoma test results, glaucoma complications, and disease management.
