Anxiety disorders among recovered patients with substance dependence: A follow-up study

Shams Eldin AF, et al. - Recovered patients with substance dependence were examined for the presence of anxiety disorders, as well as the prevailing types of anxiety disorders among these patients. From the outpatient clinic of the Psychiatry and Addiction Prevention Hospital in Kasr Al Ainy, they recruited subjects diagnosed with substance dependence. Recovered patients commonly displayed anxiety disorders (94%). The most commonly diagnosed anxiety disorder was specific phobic disorder in these patients, with social anxiety disorder a close second.
