Becarevic M, et al. - Authors gauged the relationship between vitamin D₃ (VD₃), multiple positivity of conventional antiphospholipid and anti-annexin A₅ (aanxA₅) antibodies (Abs) levels only in female obstetric (OAPS) vs vascular antiphospholipid syndrome (VAPS). Findings did not suggest any association of newly emerging aPL Abs, such as aanxA₅ Abs, or their combinations with classical aPL Abs with VD₃ deficiency in neither OAPS nor VAPS patients. In APS, supplementation with VD₃ should be considered due to its immunomodulatory roles in B-Ly homeostasis, at least in subgroup with severe form of the disease, ie, VAPS.
