An oral disease severity score validated for use in oral pemphigus vulgaris

British Journal of Dermatology May 08, 2018

Ormond M, et al. - Authors validated the Oral Disease Severity Score (ODSS) for the assessment of oral involvement in pemphigus vulgaris (PV). They also compared it's inter- and intraobserver variability and ease of use with the Physician's Global Assessment (PGA) and the oral scoring methods used in the Autoimmune Bullous Skin Disorder Intensity Score (ABSIS) and the Pemphigus Disease Area Index (PDAI). For the assessment of oral PV, ODSS has been validated in this study. Compared to PDAI, ABSIS and PGA, ODSS demonstrated superior inter- and intraobserver reliability and was quick to perform.
