An intracerebral hemorrhage care bundle is associated with lower case fatality
Annals of Neurology Sep 22, 2019
Parry-Jones AR, Sammut-Powell C, Paroutoglou K, et al. - Given the possible advantages of anticoagulation reversal, intensive blood pressure lowering, neurosurgery, and access to critical care in cases of acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), researchers integrated and implemented these as the “ABC” hyperacute care bundle and assessed case fatality in relation to its implementation. From June 1, 2015 to May 31, 2016, the ABC bundle was implemented. Participants were 973 ICH patients. In the implementation period as well as post-implementation, lower adjusted odds of death by 30 days were reported, compared with those reported prior to implementation. Overall, a significant link was found between implementation of the ABC care bundle and lower 30-day case fatality post-ICH.
