Altitude and COPD prevalence: Analysis of the PREPOCOL-PLATINO-BOLD-EPI-SCAN study

Horner A, et al. – The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship of COPD prevalence with altitude, taking into account well–known COPD risk factors. Findings revealed that living at high altitude was not related to a difference in COPD prevalence after accounting for individual risk factors. The results disclosed that high altitude itself was correlated with an increased risk of undiagnosed COPD.
