Alterations in urinary collagen peptides in lupus nephritis subjects correlate with renal dysfunction and renal histopathology
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Sep 18, 2017
Wei R, et al. - Authors of this work investigated whether a unique lupus nephritis (LN) urinary peptidome could be identified and whether LN-specific alteration reflected the underlying fibrogenic process of altered extracellular matrix (ECM) turnover. Evidence suggested that urinary peptidomic alterations likely reflected pathogenic pathways involving ECM turnover in LN kidneys. Moreover, it potentially could be developed as biomarkers to monitor renal disease progression.
