Ruiz-Medrano J, et al. - In a healthy population, using swept-source optical coherence tomography, the age-related changes in the vascular density of the choroid was evaluated by the authors. They found a decrease in the luminal area and the percentage of vascular/total area with increasing age, whereas the stromal area remained stable.
