Age-dependent changes in the macular choriocapillaris of normal eyes imaged with Swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography
American Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 04, 2019
Zheng F, et al. - In this prospective, cross-sectional study, researchers estimated 164 individuals to delineate the age-dependent variations in macular choriocapillaris (CC) flow deficits (FDs) in normal eyes imagined with 100-kHz Swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA). They observed no notable correlations between FD% and axial length. They found an increase in FD% in all fields with increasing age. Although, they reported the highest increases in the central macula C1 regions as well as the smallest increases in the peripheral macula R2.5 regions.
