Age and gender related characteristics of corneal refractive parameters in a large cohort study

Vainer I, Mimouni M, Rabina G, et al. - In myopic and hyperopic patients attending a refractive surgery, researchers described age and gender related changes in corneal refractive parameters. Between January 2000 and December 2014, they analyzed demographic and refractive parameters of myopic and hyperopic patients who had laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) or photorefractive keratectomy at the Care-Vision Laser Centers, Tel-Aviv, Israel. In total, 62,422 eyes of 31,211 patients were involved in this retrospective cross-sectional study. According to this large cohort study, age and gender related refractive parameters among myopic and hyperopic patients seeking refractive surgery. In patients attending refractive surgery, these parameters can explain and predict trends.
