Adult height, prevalent coronary artery calcium score, and incident cardiovascular disease outcomes in a multiethnic cohort
American Journal of Epidemiology Sep 01, 2017
Yeboah J, et al. – A multi– ethnic cohort was assessed for links between adult height, coronary artery calcium (CAC) score, incident atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) events, and atrial fibrillation (AFib). Data highlighted an association of tall stature (in a gradient–response fashion) with an attenuated risk of ASCVD events and increased risk of AFib. Adult height may signal interactions between genetic and environmental factors and may provide risk information independent of current traditional risk factors and CAC score.
