Giráldez-García C, et al. - Researchers determined the impact of age on diabetes incidence by general and central adiposity after 3-year follow-up by analyzing data from a cohort of 1,184 subjects with prediabetes involved in The Cohort Study in Primary Health Care on the Evolution of Patients with Prediabetes (PREDAPS). Using hazard ratios (HR), the relationship between adiposity and diabetes incidence was evaluated. As compared to younger age group, the relationship of central adiposity with type 2 diabetes incidence was lower for individuals in the older age group.
