Adherence to the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet and hyperuricemia: A Cross-sectional Study
Arthritis Care & Research Jan 28, 2020
Gao Y, Cui LF, Sun YY, et al. - Among 71,893 Chinese candidates (mean age was 51.4 years) of the Kailuan Study I and the Kailuan Study II, free of gout prior to or in 2014, researchers explored the connection between adherence to the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet and chances of having hyperuricemia using multiple logistic regression models. Findings suggested an association of the DASH diet with a low probability of having hyperuricemia in Chinese adults. The link between the DASH diet and hyperuricemia was more pronounced among older people (≥ 50 years), women and physically inactive participants, compared with their counterparts.
