British Journal of Sports Medicine May 03, 2018
Zorzi A, et al. - Using ECG, researchers undertook a comparison of the 2010 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the 2017 International criteria for the differential diagnosis between hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and athlete’s heart. Findings revealed that ESC criteria showed a sensitivity of 95.5% and a specificity of 86.9%. It was determined that the use of 2017 International criteria demonstrated a connection with a significant increase in specificity. It also reported a marginal decrease in sensitivity for the differential diagnosis between HCM and athlete’s heart.
