Accuracy of psychometric tools in the assessment of personality in adolescents and adults requesting gender-affirming treatments: A systematic review
European Psychiatry Oct 04, 2019
Lehmann K, et al. - Researchers conducted a systematic review to assess the diagnostic accuracy of psychometric tools employed for the evaluation of personality disorders in those asking gender-affirming treatments. For this population, no agreed reference standards were identified and psychometric tools continue to be scored on reference data from the cisgender (not transgender) population. Robust evidence on this issue is requisite, in view of the possibility of denial to individuals to access to gender-affirming treatments based on psychometric tools without established reliability in this population.
