Accommodative esotropia treatment plan utilizing simultaneous strabismus surgery and photorefractive keratectomy
American Journal of Ophthalmology Jan 18, 2018
Eustis HS, et al. - This study incorporated an appraisal of an individualized treatment plan combining photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and strabismus surgery to correct excessive hyperopia and a high accommodative convergence/accommodation ratio or tight medial recti in patients with accommodative esotropia. The inference drawn was that simultaneous PRK and strabismus surgery was safe and effective in the treatment of accommodative esotropia. Such an individualized treatment plan could lead to a physiologic refractive error, good visual acuity (VA), and a spectacle-free existence.
