Chan L, et al. - From 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2016 at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, data on demographic information, the causative agent, treatment, and final survival outcome were estimated to study the relationship between prognosis and the type of systemic immune- modulation treatment administered on subjects with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), SJS-Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) overlap and TEN. They noticed an overall mortality of 19% whereas 7 suffered TEN. They managed 81% of cases within the burn unit. About 70% of subjects were given IVIG and 13 individuals received systemic corticosteroids. They noted no death incidence in the combined IVIG and corticosteroid group.
