A simple modification of dialysate potassium: Its impact on plasma potassium concentrations and the electrocardiogram

Clinical Kidney Journal Dec 11, 2019

Delanaye P, Krzesinski F, Dubois BE, et al. - Twenty-seven prevalent hemodialysis (HD) people were involved in this study in order to examine the influence of rising dialysate K by 1 mEq/L on plasma K concentrations and electrocardiogram (ECG) results prior to and following HD sessions. Results suggested that following the dialysis session, a simple rise of 1 mEq/L of K in the dialysate was related to a lower risk of hypokalaemia and lower QT dispersion.
