Heidinger A, et al. - Researchers evaluated 199 eyes of 160 subjects to ascertain the postoperative course after Xen45 Gel Stent implantation at the Medical University of Graz from 2014-2016 in this single-center, retrospective study with 22.8±6.9 mm Hg mean preoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) on 2.9±1.0 IOP-lowering medication. They observed Xen implantation as an effective surgical intervention leading to a significant decline of IOP and number of medications with a low rate of complexities. They suggested attentive postoperative management to be compulsory.
