Elkamshoushy AA, et al. - Experts compared the comfort and inflammation in patients treated with postoperative topical antibiotic steroids in one eye after fornix-incision strabismus surgery vs no treatment in the other eye. Findings did not suggest superiority of postoperative topical antibiotic-steroid to no treatment in uncomplicated fornix surgery with regard to patient comfort and inflammation. In those cases, there was a probability to give consideration to sparing the patient the inconvenience, cost, and potential complications of the topical medication.
