A randomized clinical trial on the efficacy of a new oxalate-containing sensitivity relief strip following professional vs self-application

International Journal of Dental Hygiene May 03, 2018

Drake MA, et al. - Authors ascertained the effectiveness of 3.14% dipotassium oxalate monohydrate-containing strip on the relief of dentinal hypersensitivity (DH). They also evaluated if there was a difference in DH levels when the strip was self-applied vs applied by a dental professional. The short-term (4 weeks) effectiveness of a single application of 3.14% dipotassium oxalate monohydrate-containing strip was confirmed in this study. Experts did not note any difference in the self-application and professional application of the strip.
