A randomized clinical trial of cyanoacrylate tissue adhesives in donor site of connective tissue grafts
Journal of Periodontology Dec 14, 2018
Stavropoulou C, et al. - Experts compared the patient-centered outcomes, early wound healing and post-operative complications at palatal donor area of subepithelial connective tissue grafts (CTG) between cyanoacrylates tissue adhesives and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sutures. The enrolled 36 patients who required harvesting of CTG and assigned to one of two groups. Findings suggested similar performance of cyanoacrylate to sutures and it can be used for wound closure of the donor site of CTG. Compared to the conventional suture placement, the application was about 5 minutes faster, reducing the total time of the surgical procedure.
