Malaria Journal Sep 05, 2017
Dara A, et al. – Researchers sought to discuss regarding a new method for sequencing the hypervariable Plasmodium falciparum gene var2csa from clinical samples. They identified a next–generation sequencing platform, Pacific Biosciences (PacBio), could offer an alternative approach to overcome these issues. This method seems to have a potential for facilitating a detailed analysis of var2csa genetic variation and could be adapted to sequence other hypervariable P. falciparum genes.
