Fertility and Sterility Apr 11, 2019
Monseur BC, et al. - In a national survey, the prevalence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy was determined among women reporting use of infertility services prior to their most recent pregnancy. Furthermore, women who reported the use of infertility services were compared to those who do not, regarding the likelihood for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. For this study, multiple phases from the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), a population—based state-specific survey, were reviewed. The responses included 21,884 respondents for analysis, a history of fertility treatment was reported in 2,826 (12.9%) of these. Observations revealed more likelihood of reporting hypertension during pregnancy among women who reported a history of infertility treatment (n=595; 21.23%).
