A multicenter cross sectional study for bone-articular lesions associated with dialysis related amyloidosis in Japan

Nephrology Jul 02, 2018

Nishi S, et al. - In this multicenter cross-sectional study, 82 patients with clinical dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA) from 20 hospitals in Japan were assessed to examine the initiation of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and trigger finger (TF), and evaluated the association between walking disturbances and bone-articular lesions or joint pains. It was observed that CTS appeared significantly earlier than TF since the initiation of dialysis. Data reported that major cause of decreased activities of daily living (ADL) in subjects with clinical DRA was knee joint pain in the advanced phase.
