Here is a trivia for you: What do these doctors have in common: Atul Gawande, Khaled Hosseini, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Siddhartha Mukherjee? The answer is while they all trained as Medical Doctors, they also wielded the pen as very successful writers.

Practicing medicine does not just hone technical skills acquired through long years of medical training, but also exposes doctors to both: deep human suffering and joys through the lives of their patients. They intimately witness the ebbs and flows of human life playing out in the tragic deaths of their patients and new lives being born under their care. It is no surprise then that the experiences move some doctors to start writing to make sense of the world around them.
