About the presenter:
Dr. Vimal Krishnan S (Associate Professor and the Domain Lead in EM Academics at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka)
- He completed his MD securing the first rank at Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)
- Dr. Krishnan's batch was one of the first batches of residency-trained, Government of India (GOI) approved, Medical Council of India (MCI) recognised MD emergency medicine specialists in India
- He serves as the governing council member of the Academic College of Emergency Experts (ACEE) India
- He also serves as the principal secretary of the Emergency Medicine Association (EMA) India, which is the largest association of MCI/NBE recognized residency trained emergency medicine specialists in India
- Dr. Krishnan is the first emergency medicine specialist to be selected for the prestigious FAMIER fellowship program in India
- He serves on the editorial board of the Journal Of Emergency Medicine Trauma And Acute Care (JEMTAC)
- He is the recipient of multiple awards, including the “Global Leadership Award” by the American College of Emergency Physicians in ACEP20 Unconventional, “Excellence in Emergency Medicine” in TOPCOM, Malaysia (2019)
- His interests include Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), simulation, medical education, resuscitation science and cardiovascular emergency medicine, disaster medicine, EM administration and public health
