About the presenter:
Dr. Denis Xavier (Professor and Head of Pharmacology, Head, Division of Clinical Research at St. John's Medical College, Bangalore.)
- Dr. Xavier did his MBBS, MD & MSc (Clinical Epidemiology, Canada)
- He is chairman of the PhD Committee at St. John’s from the year 2020
- He is a member of about 32 International Steering Committees of Multi-center research projects.
- He is listed in the top 2% of Global Scientists, Stanford Ranking 2021
- He has received research grants from the NIH(USA), CIHR(Can), NHMRC(Aus), UK-MRC, Wellcome, ICMR, DBT
- He has over 202 publications in journals such as the Lancet, NEJM, JAMA, BMJ, Circl, EHJ, Heart, AHJ, etc.
- Dr Xavier is the Course Director for annual courses in health research methods, randomised controlled trials, and implementation research
- He is the National Convener of the Academic Consortium for Clinical Research in India (ACCRI, ISCR).
- He has delivered invited lectures at several international Universities, including Oxford, McMaster, Harvard, Stanford, North Western, and Duke.
- Dr. Denis is chairman/ member of 5 ethics committees (past/ present).
- He is also a member of 9 project review committees of government research funding agencies.
