Woman delivers child at Dombivili railway station

A 29-year-old pregnant woman on her way to a hospital in Mumbai delivered a male child in a crowded local train at Dombivili railway station itself, the sources said.
According to reports, the pregnant woman who was nine months pregnant was on her way from Khadavali to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and then to the Kama hospital. When the train was to arrive at 0700 hours she developed severe labour pain.
A nurse in the compartment helped her and she delivered the child at the Dombivili railway station itself at 0721 hours. The mother and child were taken to the One Rupee Clinic at the Railway station where the staff rendered her assistance. Dr Rahul Ghule, CEO of the One Rupee Clinic said the mother and child were fine and they were admitted to a local hospital at Dombivili. According to Dr. Ghule, this is the eighth delivery at Railway stations assisted with One Rupee Clinic Staff, he said.
